Sports Team interview – “You can’t make 50 pub-rock albums”

With their third album Boys These Days, Britain’s silliest guitar band Sports Team trade their pub-rock roots for a newfound ‘60s pop sheen and a sharper, if only slightly more serious, lyrical edge. Following a label switch, an armed robbery, and a new baby for frontman Alex Rice, Boys These Days brims with ambition and absurdity. We sat down with Alex and lyricist Rob Knaggs to discuss recording in the Norwegian wilderness, ditching Jools Holland, and competitive hot dog eating.
